Every tidy yard starts with a volunteer.
We have no paid crews — just locals who give a few hours and go home knowing exactly who they helped. If you can push a mower, hold a rake, or simply organise things well, there's a place for you here.
Volunteer roles
Join a mowing crew
The heart of Devicentrix. You'll visit seniors and people with disability across Brisbane's south-west, mow and tidy their yards, and leave behind a safer home. Full training on our equipment provided — you just bring closed shoes and a smile.
Help with in-home aid
Not every job needs a mower. Sweeping paths, clearing leaves, bundling branches — the small outdoor tasks that keep people safe at home. Perfect if you prefer lighter work and longer chats.
Mentor a young worker
Our employment pathway pairs young people aged 15–25 and unemployed locals with experienced volunteers. If you have trade, landscaping or horticulture experience, your know-how can change someone's trajectory.
Keep us organised
Behind every crew is coordination: answering requests, scheduling visits, maintaining gear, applying for grants. Admin-minded volunteers are gold to us — and most of it can be done from your kitchen table.
Put your hand up.
Tell us a bit about yourself and how you'd like to help. Your email app will open with everything pre-addressed, and our volunteer coordinator will reply within a few days to arrange a friendly first chat.

“You see the relief on their face when the yard's done. That's the pay — and it's generous.”A Devicentrix volunteer
